Simple Baked Ziti Warren
Oh no, I have nothing to eat. Phew, half a box of Ziti - I'm all set.
I personally don't like cottage cheese or Ricotta or mushrooms. I also tried
it with beef, but it's not really necessary. What's here is all you need.
1/2 16-ounce box Ziti
1 egg
8 ounces shredded Mozzarella cheese (makes 2 cups)
2/3 jar spaghetti sauce (about 30 ounces) - I use Ragu with
meat flavoring.
parsley
garlic powder
Parmesan cheese
Cook up the Ziti - maybe a minute less than normal, so 8 minutes or so.
Meanwhile ... Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, mix the egg, shredded Mozzarella, about 15 ounces spaghetti
sauce, sprinkles of parsley flakes, and sprinkles of garlic powder.
Drain the cooked ziti and mix it in the bowl.
Put the mixture in a casserole dish (I use a 9-inch square one that is about
2-inches deep). Cover with more sauce (about 15 more ounces). Sprinkle with
Parmesan cheese. Cover with aluminum foil. Bake for about 45 minutes in a
350-degree oven.
