These are nice to have on hand for the holidays. You can adapt the
recipe to suit your taste.
1 pound sausage (hot, sweet, Italian or regular)
1 Pound sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
3 cups Bisquick (regular or reduced fat)
3/4 cup water
Cook sausage in large skillet. (If using link sausage, remove meat from casings.)
Break up the sausage with a fork, and cook until no longer pink.
Drain off the fat; spoon sausage into large bowl and cool completely. Add cheese,
Bisquick and water. Mix with a fork until just blended.
Roll into 1-inch balls and place on cookie sheets, 2 inches apart. Bake in a
400-degree oven for 12=15 minutes or until puffed & browned. Remove
from cookie sheets and cool on wire racks. (These may be frozen in a single
layer then stored in freezer bags. Reheat at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
