Applesauce Spice Bars  Mom & Dad
1 cup applesauce
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
2 cups Bisquick
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13x9x2-inch pan. Beat oil, sugar, eggs
and applesauce in large bowl for 1 minute. Stir in Bisquick, spice and nuts.
Spread in pan. Bake 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes
out clean. Cool.
Browned Butter Glaze:
1/4 cup butter or margarine
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-2 tablespoons hot water
Heat butter/margarine over low heat until golden brown. Remove from heat. Beat in
sugar and vanilla. Add water until desired consistency.
