Strawberry Pizza Noreen & Marion
This looks best with brightly colored fruit. Our favorites are strawberries,
peaches and kiwi.
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten to blend
1/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
16 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
6 cups strawberries, sliced
Using electric mixer, cream butter with 1 cup sugar. Add egg, milk and ¼
teaspoon vanilla. Sift flour with baking powder. Blend into butter mixture.
Cover dough and refrigerate 25 minutes or overnight.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Generously butter a 14-inch round pizza pan.
Press dough evenly into pan. Bake until lightly browned, 15-20 minutes.
Cool crust to room temperature in pan.
Combine cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Spread over
crust. Cover with strawberry slices, overlapping slightly.
Cut into wedges and serve.
