Strawberry Pizza Noreen & Marion

This looks best with brightly colored fruit. Our favorites are strawberries, peaches and kiwi.

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten to blend
1/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
16 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
6 cups strawberries, sliced

Using electric mixer, cream butter with 1 cup sugar. Add egg, milk and teaspoon vanilla. Sift flour with baking powder. Blend into butter mixture. Cover dough and refrigerate 25 minutes or overnight.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Generously butter a 14-inch round pizza pan. Press dough evenly into pan. Bake until lightly browned, 15-20 minutes. Cool crust to room temperature in pan.

Combine cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Spread over crust. Cover with strawberry slices, overlapping slightly. Cut into wedges and serve.
