5 ounces semisweet chocolate
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate
6 tablespoons butter, room temperature
1/3 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 tablespoon instant espresso powder or 2 tablespoons instant coffee granules
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup chocolate chips
2/3 cup nuts, chopped (walnuts or pecans)

Melt both chocolates and the butter on top of double boiler. Allow to cool slightly. Sift flour and baking powder and set aside. Beat eggs, vanilla and espresso or coffee until mixed together. Add sugar and blend until thick. Add melted chocolate and blend 1 minute more. Add flour mixture and mix until blended. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop dough by generously rounded tablespoons onto greased cookie sheets (this makes large cookies, decrease for small cookies). Bake in a 325-degree oven until cookies rise slightly and form thin crust (about 13 minutes for large cookies, 11 minutes for smaller ones).
