Pumpkin Chocolate Chip BreadLaurie & Steve

You can make a lower fat version of this by replacing 1/2 cup of the oil with 1/2 cup
of unsweetened applesauce.


3 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
1 16-ounce can pumpkin
3 & 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 pinches ground cloves
2/3 cup water
12 ounces chocolate chips

Cream sugar and oil. Add eggs and pumpkin and mix well.
Combine dry ingredientsand add to pumpkin mixture alternately with water, mixing well after each addition.
Gently stir in chocolate chips.
In a 350 degree oven, bake for about 50 to 60 minutes (or until toothpick inserted in center of loaf comes out clean) in greased and floured (or Pam) loaf pans. Makes 2 loaves.
